1. Prepare 8 oz of Plain flour.

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Line a loaf tin with greaseproof paper..
3. Sieve flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl..
4. Cut cherries in to quarters and add to flour..
5. Cream butter and sugar together then add the beaten eggs a little at a time..
6. Stir in the dry ingredients lightly adding a little milk to mix then stir in the essence..
